Connect Lodekeep to Gemini CLI
The consumer Gemini app has no custom-connector setting, so connect through the CLI.
Use the Gemini CLI. The Gemini web and mobile app cannot add custom MCP connectors yet. Requires the Max or Team plan on Lodekeep: coding-agent clients are a paid surface. Chat clients (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok) work on every plan.
- Sign in once, then wire up Gemini. Both are one command.

npx lodekeep@latest connect --client gemini - Run npx lodekeep@latest connect on its own first if you have not signed in on this machine.
- Prefer the native command, or already signed in another way? Gemini CLI can register a remote server itself, and writes it to ~/.gemini/settings.json.
- Native alternative
gemini mcp add -s user --transport http lodekeep https://lodekeep.com/mcp - The -s user part registers it for every project rather than just the current folder. Then run /mcp auth lodekeep inside Gemini to sign in.
Check it worked
Say “Remember this: my test phrase is gold vein.” Then open a different AI you have connected and ask “what is my test phrase?” If it answers gold vein, the same memory is reaching both.

- Why can't I connect the Gemini app?
- Google's consumer Gemini app has no custom-connector setting yet. Use the Gemini CLI instead.
- What does it cost?
- Gemini CLI is a coding-agent client, so it needs Lodekeep Max or Team.
- How do I connect it?
- npx lodekeep@latest connect --client gemini, after running npx lodekeep@latest connect once on that machine.
- Will the web app be supported later?
- As soon as Gemini's web and mobile apps support custom MCP connectors, the same hosted URL will work there.
- Is there a native Gemini CLI command?
- Yes. gemini mcp add -s user --transport http lodekeep https://lodekeep.com/mcp registers it for every project and writes ~/.gemini/settings.json. Then run /mcp auth lodekeep inside Gemini to sign in.
