Connect Lodekeep to ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds Lodekeep as a remote connector, so a note you save in Claude is searchable here straight away.
Needs a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education) with developer mode on. Free ChatGPT cannot add custom connectors.
- Turn on developer mode first: Settings, then Security and login, then Developer mode. OpenAI has moved this toggle more than once, so on other accounts look under Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, or the older Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced. Nothing about custom connectors appears until it is on.
- On a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin has to allow custom connectors first, under Workspace Settings, Permissions and Roles, Connected Data.
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins, then Create (this page is called Apps or Connectors on older accounts).
- Remote MCP server URL
https://lodekeep.com/mcp - Leave any OAuth Client ID and Client Secret fields blank. Lodekeep registers the app automatically, so those stay empty. This is the step people get wrong.
- Sign in with your Lodekeep email and approve the consent screen. You are returned to the app, connected.
Check it worked
Say “Remember this: my test phrase is gold vein.” Then open a different AI you have connected and ask “what is my test phrase?” If it answers gold vein, the same memory is reaching both.
Questions about ChatGPT
- Does ChatGPT free work with Lodekeep?
- No, and that is a ChatGPT limitation rather than ours. Custom connectors require a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education) with developer mode enabled. Lodekeep itself works on the free plan.
- Where is developer mode?
- Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings. On older accounts the same toggle sits under Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced.
- What URL do I paste?
- https://lodekeep.com/mcp, with any Client ID and Client Secret fields left blank.
- Can ChatGPT read what I told Claude?
- Yes. That is the point of keeping the memory outside the chat: capture once, recall in whichever assistant you are in.
- Is there anything to install?
- No. ChatGPT connects to the hosted URL over OAuth 2.1 with dynamic registration, which Lodekeep handles.
- What if a saved fact is wrong?
- Correct it and pass the old entry's id as superseded. The outdated version stops being recalled instead of competing with the new one.
- Does Lodekeep see my whole ChatGPT history?
- No. It only ever sees what you explicitly capture.
