Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you connect Lodekeep, in plain terms. Still have a question? Email us and a real person will answer.
Privacy & security
- Is my memory private?
- Yes. Every row and every vector is scoped to your user id, and tool calls authenticate with your personal token. Nobody else can search your memory.
- Do you train AI models on my memory, or sell my data?
- No. We never sell your data and we never use your memories to train AI models. Your captured memory is used only to provide the service to you, and it is scoped to your account.
- Where is my data stored?
- On our own servers, with semantic vectors in Pinecone and embeddings generated through OpenAI. We list every subprocessor we rely on, and exactly what each one handles, on our Security page.
- Can I export or delete everything?
- Yes. You own the content you store. You can delete individual memories at any time, and you can email [email protected] to export or permanently erase everything associated with your account. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on your data rights.
Compatibility & setup
- Which apps does it work with?
- Anything that speaks MCP: Claude Desktop, Claude Code (terminal and VS Code), Cursor, Gemini CLI, and other MCP clients. The same memory follows you across all of them.
- What does the install look like?
- On Claude for web, desktop, and mobile: paste one URL into Settings as a custom connector. Nothing to install, no API key. CLI clients (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI) use one command or two environment variables instead. Either way: no database, no infrastructure on your machine.
- Do I need an API key on my machine?
- On Claude for web, desktop, and mobile: no. You paste one connector URL into Settings and authenticate in the browser, so no key ever lives on your machine. CLI clients (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI) use a personal token instead, which stays local to that client.
How Lodekeep works
- What is MCP?
- MCP is the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI apps connect to external tools and data sources. Lodekeep is a hosted MCP server, so any MCP-capable app can read and write your memory through it.
- What can I capture, and how do I recall it?
- Capture decisions, preferences, patterns, and project context as you work — one tool call saves a memory into a project. Recall is semantic: you search in natural language and get back the memories that match the meaning, not just the exact words.
- Does the same memory follow me across different AI apps?
- Yes. Your memory lives with Lodekeep, not inside any one app, so what you capture in Claude Desktop is there when you open Claude Code, Cursor, or another MCP client. One memory, every AI.
Plans & billing
- What does it cost?
- There is a Free plan at $0 with no card required, plus paid plans — Pro, Max, and Team — billed monthly. Current prices are on the pricing section of the home page.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Manage or cancel from the Stripe customer portal in one click. Your captured memory stays readable on the free tier.
- Do you offer refunds?
- Paid periods that have already started are non-refundable, because there is a free plan to try first and you can cancel anytime to stop the next charge. Where your local consumer law grants a statutory refund right, we honor it. Full detail is on our Refund Policy page.
- How long is my memory kept?
- Memory captured on the Free plan is retained for 30 days. On any paid plan, your memory is kept permanently for as long as your subscription is active.
Data & hosting
- Can I self-host instead?
- Not today. Lodekeep is a managed, hosted service, and your memory is isolated per account on our infrastructure. Self-hosting is not available yet.
